Our synthetic chemistry matters and has impact in cancer research. Pyrimidine-based compounds prepared in our lab have been identified as promising
anticancer agents targeting tumor cell senescence. The experimental work performed by Maria Mayán’s group at INIBIC (A Coruña) and now in CINBIO (UVigo) was published in Molecular Oncology journal ( doi.org/10.1016/j.omton.2026.201129)

Thanks to all authors involved. !!

As last year, SynCatMeth joined the program Incrústate organized by CICA and sponsored by Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología (FECYT) from Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación. Last Sunday the work done by Claudia García Martín (IES Rafael Dieste) tutoring by Prof  Montserrat Martínez was shown in the DOMUS museum of A Coruña

Claudia, it was a pleasure to host you in the group.
